Ali Muhıddin Hacı Bekir
It's obligatory to sample lokum while in İstanbul, and one of the best places to do so is at this historic shop, which has been operated by members of the same family for over 200 years. Buy it sade (plain), or made with cevizli (walnut), fıstıklı (pistachio), badem (almond) or roze (rose water). There's another store in Beyoğlu.

Malatya Pazarı
The city of Malatya in central-eastern Turkey is famous for its apricots, and this shop with three branches near the Spice Bazaar's Tahmis Caddesi doorway stocks the cream of the crop, dried both naturally and chemically. Its other quality dried fruit and nuts eclipse all others in this bazaar.
