Lonely Planet review for Cezayir

Housed in an attractive building that was once home to an Italian school, Cezayir serves Mod Med food with Turkish influences and caters to an upmarket boho crowd. In summer, the courtyard is always packed with diners sampling dishes such as boneless lamb shank roast with rice, spinach roots and aniseed. Desserts include classics such as chocolate soufflé and ice cream.

high hopes, but food was very disappointing

    danvan recommends this,

My boyfriend and I stopped at Cezayir for dinner and were very disappointed with both of our meals. I had monk fish that was overcooked to the point of being rubbery. My risotto side dish was undercooked. My boyfriend had lamb chops which were also very overcooked. They were completely dried out. HIs pureed aubergine was excessively smoky flavored. The waitstaff was friendly and filled our water glasses often. Maybe we just showed up at the wrong time. It was a little later on a Sunday night.
