Lonely Planet review for Sultanahmet Fish House
If you're the fishy type, traditionally there have been only three viable dining options in the Old City: heading down to Kumkapı, grabbing a fish sandwich on the dock at Emininönü or booking a table at the pricey Balıkçı Sabahattin. But now there's this casual restaurant in Cağaloğlu. What makes this joint distinctive are its prices, which are remarkably low for what's on offer. Wine is also well priced, and everything is squeaky clean. Wow.

nice staff, not great food
peitreq6 does not recommend this,
Very nice staff, not so great food. The fish wasn t really fresh, seemed to date at least from 2 days ago. We took shrimps pan as a starter, nothing special.
At more than 120 TL for 1 starter 2 grilled dorades and a small bottle of wine, this looks like a tourist trap to me.Good for: staff

Amazing seafood - what a great find!
thelotusgoddess recommends this,
For delicious and fresh seafood, the Sultanahmet Fish House cannot be beat. Plenty of seating, extremely friendly - and helpful! - staff made our meal an event to remember. The menu is excellent. We started with a variety of traditional mezes followed by turbot cooked in salt (not salty!) along with a carefully paired white wine. The wait staff makes excellent suggestions and this restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip to Istanbul. Very highly recommended!
