Göreme's most atmospheric restaurant swoons under the weight of its own reputation as coupled-up diners nestle behind an extensive wine list. Juicy steaks, tender veal clay pots and a stack of flavoursome pasta dishes head the impressive, meaty menu. It's easy to order poorly though, as the cold mezes are oily, and the fish is dry. A safe bet is the decent three-course set menu (TL20). Service is delightful.

    the meal we had here was one of the best i ate in Turkey, and that is a BIG call. my partner had the marble beef, which was spectacular. i ate rack of lamb - sensational. the haydari (garlic yoghurt dip) and the vegetable mezes were also incredible. in fact, i think the haydari was the best i've had (and i ate a lot of it in Turkey).

    we sat in the garden out front, which was beautiful. service was great, and we were attended by some very charming cats - their charm paid off, because i tip in lamb morsels.
