Club Libra
A glitzy place with three levels of dance floors and bars, Club Libra caters mainly to Turks but tries to get travellers (especially females) in by waiving the usual entrance fee. There are belly dancers on Friday and Saturday nights.

Fat Boys
This place labours under the weight of an unfortunate name and equally unfortunate barn-like interior. It's just around the corner from the otogar, proving our theory that places so located are usually rough as guts.

Flintstones Cave Bar
At the start of the Open-Air Museum road, this long-time backpackers' favourite is cut right into the rock face and really fires up in season. It has a terrace with impressive views where you can enjoy a nargileh, and hosts occasional live music.

Pacha Bar
We don't know whether to be amused by or disapproving of the Pacha Bar's advertising slogan, which urges customers to 'get their rocks off'. Behind the otogar, it has sultry lighting, the mandatory disco ball and plenty of dark corners. It also has a pool table and big-screen TV.

Red Red Wine House
Göreme's most atmospheric bar is a wonderful place to while away an hour or two. An intimate candlelit space with a low arched ceiling, it has mood lighting, an open fireplace for chilly evenings and an impressive Cappadocian wine list. We guarantee that you'll enjoy relaxing over a drink and a nargileh (water pipe) - free if you've bought a few drinks, or for a small cost otherwise - while listening to the sounds of live guitar music.
