Since joining Thorntree I have been delighted to read so many wonderful trip reviews. These are most often full of the small details so important and useful to independent travellers. How sad then that in time these slip down the forum pages and get lost or forgotten about. All that help…all that typing! So I have trawled through the last 12 months and collated all the trip reviews and, after equal amounts of bullying and flattery,Zabba(mmwwahh!)has agreed to make this a sticky,so it will now be at…
I took a ride on a rental motorbike last summer for which I did a ride report on the ADVrider website:
Turkey during Ramadan - Sightseeing by rented Honda CRF250L
There are some good ride reports on that website which you can find via the search box at the top right of the page.
For instance, here's a list of reports where the rider has been through Karaman
It's a good format with the ability to include photos. I'll let you know when I do another one.
Is there any direct transport (bus/dolmus) from Goreme to Kayseri otogar ? or i need to change in Urgup/Nevsehir ?
I have night bus to Kahta, is there any good place to kill time in Kayseri ?
I came across Levent Valley on TripAdvisor. It looked very interesting with a Grand Canyon like structure, observation tower, Neolithic Caves and hiking possibilities.
I looked around the net and found too little information about tourist facilities, accessibility of the Canyon and what to see once I get there. This Canyon is NOT mentioned in my LP.
Thanks for your help
I will spend a week in Istanbul from 22/07 to 30/07 and I will want to get involved in a bit of art and creativity... :-)
I'm going to take a cooking class for sure, that's quite easy to find information on the web but if you've had some good experince feel free to tell about it.
The other think I'd like to discover is "mosaic"... it's much harder to find information about that as it's absolutly not touristy... so if any of you knows about something... it would help a lot to start…
was just wondering if anyone has gone on a cruise with "before lunch cruises" recently... they get really high ratings but their website doesn't seem to work and i was wondering if they are called something else now

Through Turkish Airlines, you can buy a domestic ticket from Istanbul-Atatürk to Hopa, whereby you fly from Istanbul to Batumi in Georgia, then take a "sterile" bus across the border to Hopa, without clearing Georgian immigration.
Of course, since this is a flight to Batumi after all, and you can't segregate domestic and international pax on the plane, you will clear immigration at Atatürk, which is also stated on Turkish's website.
My questions are:
1.Do you clear immigration in Hopa? If so…
