Mehmet's Heaven
Long-established Mehmet's has an interior with wide cushions and a back terrace with travertine views. The Turkish fare is decent but Mehmet's heaven is now somewhere in purgatory as prices have crept up.

Kayaş
This central place has a long bar and opposing big TV (for football matches, generally). It's probably the friendliest spot for drinks, but it also has decent Turkish food at better prices than other places. The Imam bayildi (braised aubergine stuffed with garlic, onion and tomatoes) and çiğ börek (a crunchy, cheese-filled appetizer) are among the tasty treats prepared by the chef, Melahat.
