The bus and louage stations are northwest of the medina on the road to Sbeitla, off Ave Zama el-Belaoui. Kairouan has good transport connections with the rest of Tunisia. Buses travel to Tunis (US$6, three hours, hourly), Jerba (US$12, five hours, twice daily), Douz (US$14, seven hours, once daily) and Tozeur (US$11, 4½ hours, three times daily).
