I searched TT and saw several people asking about budget accommodation on Tobago. Sadly, none of the threads I saw had received responses...
Certainly some of you have made it down there. Can you attest to what we should expect to spend nightly on accommodation. Apparently there are some 'cheap' guesthouses. Has anybody stayed in them? Any feedback beyond what can be found on Booking.com would be helpful for myself, and clearly many other travelers.
I am an expat living in Trinidad 4 years now (work brought me here) and i have a reliable driver that i use on the weekends and in the evening. He was also once a tour guide and is very professional. He is however available in the evenings and on the weekends since he has day job.
I have promised to help him out by taking some time to get jobs for him because of the recent downturn in the economy here. He is a wonderful individual and very dependable, traits that are very difficult to…
I only plan on being in POS for maybe 2-3 nights, the rest on Tobago.
Is there a good hotel that is in a nice area? I always like to get out and walk when I'm in a new city.
I really don't want the big American chain hotels...maybe something like the Kapok Hotel.
Is the Queen's Park walkable without any security issues?
I just had an amazing time at Carnival in Brazil. I can't make it down there next year, but perhaps somewhere closer such as T&T (I'm taking a job in Venezuela). Is T&T a good place for Carnival? I'm under the impression it is celebrated there...
I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are about heading to T&T as a solo gal for a 9 or 10 day trip in a few weeks. I'd spend the majority of my time on Tobago and I'd like to do some exploring, but I'm not looking for parties 24/7. Does anyone know if it's easy to ferry or prop-plane it to nearby islands?
I don't know anyone who has been there, so any advice would be great. Also, suggestions or recommendations on affordable beachfront bungalows/rooms and must-see tours and beaches…
we r planning to go on a cruise at the end of february and we'll stay one day in tobago too.
my wife is pregnant, 5th month, and we are keeping on reading so many worrying news about zika virus.
some news really scare us, some other seem not to make you worry.
how is the situation like here?
do u think it would be a risk for us? on one hand we' r, or we try to be a bit confident 'cos it will be a cruise, but do you think that the visits of the island might be dangerous?
thanks in advance and…
a quick question
we'll be in tobago at the end of february during a cruise, we would like to do an excusrsion on a glass bottom boat in Store Bay.
We were thinking about reaching Store Bay from the Cruise Port (by taxu or bus) and there doing this activity
my question is: is it an excursion safe for a pregnant girl?
do you know how long does it last and a fair price to pay?
i have read that they depart in the morning and in the afternoon, we are bonded by the strict timetable of the cruise…
I'm considering spending a few days in Trinidad in March, and wanted to see if anybody's stayed at one of the cheaper spots in Port of Spain recently, and what their experience was. Looking on here and elsewhere, the options for under $40 US per night appear to be pretty limited (and under $30 US per night might be nonexistent), and guesthouse reviews are mostly several years old. Any fresh intel is much appreciated!
I am planning a 10 trip to T&T, or at least so I think so far. I'm open for other suggestions in the region (Central America, northern South America, Caribbean). I'm curious about how touristy T&T is? What a, shoestring budget, day would cost about? How difficult is it to travel between the islands? Is it safe to camp? I'm hoping to experience the culture (music mainly, history and food), get into nature, spend a day or two on the beach (hopefully without many crowds). From what…
