So, you're planning a trip to France in the near future, but can't bring yourself to brush up on those irregular verb conjugations? Here's a list of some of the most popular English words in France right now; see how far they get you…

  • Bonjour, Je voudrais un coca light s'il vous plait.
    Hi, I'd like a diet coke please.

  • J'ai un mauvais feeling avec ce type.
    This guy gives me the creeps.

  • Je voudrais un shampooing et un brushing s'il vous plait.
    I would like a shampoo and blow-dry please.

  • Faire du footing
    To go jogging

  • Faire du roller
    To go rollerblading

  • Je suis shocking.
    This doesn't mean that you're outrageous. It actually indicates that you're stunned by what has just happened. An alternative way of saying this is:

  • Je suis scotché(e)!
    Which literally means you've been scotch-taped to your chair.

  • Je voudrais checker mes mails.
    I want to check my email.

  • Est-ce que vous avez le wifi ici?
    Do you have Wifi access here?

  • Il y a un fête de Tupperware chez Sandrine ce soir.
    There is a Tupperware party at Sandrine's tonight.
