Further information

For those keen to bring the podcast to life, here are the details of Kate's Brighton day trip and all the information you need to do it yourself.

Catch the train from London to Brighton - these are frequent from both Victoria and Kings Cross Thameslink stations. Check the boards to see which one is the fast train (or you could even ask someone). If you want to book tickets in advance (this can make them cheaper) go to TheTrainLine - you can check train times here too.

Wander around North Laine - note that this is spelt with an 'i' and is an area rather than a street. I got to it by walking down Trafalgar St and turning right down one of the side streets - take your pick. (Komedia is on Gardner St, along with a bunch of cafes and shops.)

Next stop is The Lanes - good for antiques and jewellery. Walk through North Laine until you get to North St and look out for a small signposted alley just opposite Bond St.

Then to the Royal Pavilion - you can't miss it. It's like a huge cake decoration.

Shakeaways milkshake shop is located on Bond Street

Brighton Sea Life Centre is on Marine Parade and open every day of the year except Christmas Day.

Brighton Pier is free, but if you want to take a trip on the rollercoaster or any other rides, you'll have to buy special tokens at the pier.
