Co-author of Lonely Planet's Alaska (8th edition) and a contributing author to Canada (9th edition), Aaron Spitzer has a thing for bad latitudes. He spent his pre-teen years poring over polar maps, and at age 13 induced his mother to join him on his first Arctic adventure: a road-trip via rickety Ford through Canada's Northwest Territories. A decade later, with a political science B.A., Aaron relocated to Alaska and found his calling as a newsman, editing Antarctica's only newspaper and producing radio, TV and web stories for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in the Northwest Territories and the Yukon.
