After nine years of service to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Leif Pettersen embarked on an odyssey of travel writing. His weakness for fair maidens took him to Romania in 2004. He speaks the language and owns a 1990 Dacia 1310; it's said he needs only to learn tuicã distilling to gain honorary Romanian citizenship. Leif has contributed to Lonely Planet's Romania & Moldova guide. Read all about his recent journeys at www.killingbatteries.com.
