After many family car trips checking out the Australian outback and beaches, Cath took off overseas and between jobs as a journalist travelled to Europe, Asia and bits of the Middle East and Africa. After stints as a student, politician and festival organiser, Cathy settled down to a career at Lonely Planet. In recent times, she and her partner John have travelled in Europe with their 13-year-old foster child, Ali, and half-way around Australia with their baby, Zoe. Cathy is the author of Lonely Planet's Travel with Children.
