Portrait of

Paul Clammer has worked as a molecular biologist, tour leader and travel writer. For Lonely Planet he's worked on Central Asia, being the first Lonely Planet writer to cover Afghanistan for 25 years, and India, where he researched Kashmir. He's also written a book about Sudan. Paul keeps telling himself that he's going to start writing about easier destinations, but he's probably fooling himself. When he's not on the road, Paul lives in very quiet Wiltshire, England. His Afghan-themed travel website can be found at www.kabulcaravan.com.
