its all about the benjamins (per night).

we are on a budget, especially on lodgings. and i am determined to stick to that budget.
my ultimate goal is to spend as little as possible on most nights and "splurge" if the value is worth the higher pricetag. budget wise, i'm aiming for an average of less than a benjamin per night and so far i'm doing okay. i'm hoping to average much less than that when everything is finalized. with iceland, the price of everything is insane and staying in a guesthouse on a double room with shared baths is costing us 90.00 a night. seriously, it is 90.00 a night for what is pretty much a hostel and i couldn't find anything else south of a 100.00. trying to rebound from the shock of it and praying iceland is just unusually expensive, i went on an all out blitz trying to find the most cost efficient accommodations for the rest of the europe leg. i hit a small jackpot yesterday when i booked three nights in london for 45.00 gbp a night at easyhotel, a no-frills *hotel* centrally located on the piccadilly tube line. similar to easyjet (same company), they charge you extra for everything including the use of the room's tv for 5 gbp a day.
bed? check.
a spot to take my #2? check.
app. 65.00 usd a night in central london? sign me up.
it's easy to pull this trigger with london, you're out and about walking around and seeing the sights for pretty much the whole day. the room basically functions as a place to store your luggage and to sleep. room and building amenities just isn't that important.
however, with that said, i am now involved in a dilemma in italy. robbo and i have decided to spend a majority of our time at cinque terre. after emailing a few bnbs with positive reviews on tripadvisor, i am stuck with several options.
cheapest= room in vernazzo but with no view whatsoever.
average= room in vernazzo with good view, can see town and ocean.
expensive= well designed room in manarola with an absolute amazing ocean front view.
by all means, expensive isn't really that expensive (comparatively speaking). although it will pull my daily average up. and manarola isn't as convenient as vernazzo. but unlike london, we're going to be spending our evenings chilling in our room with the vinos. the questions are
do i want to face a wall or the ocean?
is the value worth the higher price tag?
i think i know which one i'm picking...
