been having fun researching things to do. as slam duly noted, i do love hotsprings. and food. so naturally, this post is centered around such things.
i have a plan!
day 1: arrive 7 am. get rental car, go straight to the blue lagoon. relax in the 98-102 degrees geothermally heated mineral water. ignore other nordic bathers in close proximity.

next: check into hotel in reykjavik, settle in, get some food. iceland is supposed to have wonderful seafood and hotdogs. yes, hotdogs!
then: drive over to the town of vik, on the southwest border. vik is a fishing village with spectacular black volcanic sand beaches.
isolated church in vik

basalt rock formations in myrdalur, near vik
we can't forget to keep our eyes open for whales, seals and puffins.
the trip's just beginning . . . stay tuned for day 2, iceland.
