The Nagoya Festival is Nagoya’s largest annual autumn festival which took place this year on October 3 (Sat) & October 4 (Sun), 2009. Official link is here Nagoya Festival.Nagoya Festival
During this time of year the weather usually turns out good with moderate temperatures making it one of the best to attend here. It has a magnificent parade that marches through downtown Nagoya, including the Procession of the Three Feudal Lords, Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu, all of whom have strong connections to Nagoya; and a collection of floats staging performances by exquisitely embroidered mechanical dolls. Various events such as dance performances and exhibitions are also held across the city during the festival.
Special people of note I was able to see was Konishiki (the first foreign-born Sumo wrestler to reach Ozeki), the mayor of Nagoya (popular guy right now), and the Nagoya sister city Los Angeles princess motorcade.
