Lady and Lord's
Blog: A Lady in London - 7 November 2009
Having never been to Lord's before, I was surprised to find that it was only ten minutes from where I live. I probably could have walked there had I not been wearing an evening gown and 5-inch heels. I took a taxi instead.
My boyfriend and I arrived at the reception and were immediately greeted by one of the people I had met at Ascot over the summer. From there I started meeting a lot of new people, including the chairman of Betfair, and also seeing people I have come to know quite well since winning the competition in June.
Also present was the Racing Welfare President, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal. She was on hand to make a short speech and present one of the awards. It was all so perfectly English to be at a black tie event at Lord's with a member of the royal family in attendance.
More adventures to come as my year as the Face continues!
