Even if your not a Architecture buff, Chandigarh is totally worth visiting, maybe because its so un-Indian, or maybe because its just a beautiful town.

Chandigarh, India - Capitol Complex, Secretariat

The main draw card for most coming here though is the whole place was basically designed by renown Swiss-French Architect Le Corbusier, which didn’t mean a thing to me, but Paula insisted he was an Architectural god.

Before visiting Le Corbusier’s main works in Chandigarh, 3 buildings in Sector 1, ‘the Capitol Complex’, you must first go to the Tourist Office at the bus station with your passport and obtain written permission.
We happened to be there just at the time when a local journalist walked in, next thing we know we’re being interviewed and published in tomorrows paper.

A tuk-tuk ride to Sector 1 and your there. Keep your passport handy, these are Government Buildings and you’ll be asked for it and those permission letters another 20 times before the day is out.

Welcome to Capitol Complex, I’ll be your guide. NO photos inside!

The inside of the Legislative Assembly was one of the most amazing buildings I have ever been in. But again, no photos. (Which wouldn’t have stopped me except they took all our cameras)
