Have you ever had to wash human faeces off your shoe?

Welcome to India, where anything and everything is possible.

Just as you sit down for breakfast, the burning trash begins.

To plagiarizer the words of Sarah Macdonald’s ‘Holy Cow’, India is living contradiction.
Its stinks like sewage, yet the food smells divine, touts on the street shit you, yet families on the train are so kind, cities are madness but the mountain villages are peaceful.

The world has approximately 6 billion people on it, approximately 1 billion of those people are right here in India, and over the past few weeks I’ve made a whirlwind tour of the most populated country on Earth.

I was lucky enough to have the lovely Ms. Paula Birch fly all the way over from M-Town to hang out for the duration of the trip.
You’ve never seen two people chew threw so much 120 film.

DELHI
Everything you hear about Delhi is true, if there’s a wall, people piss on it, if there’s a scrap of food, someone will eat it, and if you have a spare rupee, there’s something you can afford.
Cows roam the streets and highways – choking on plastic bags for lack of any other food, market bazaars are like sardine cans – shop owners out-screaming each other “eeeeeeeehhhhhxxcusssseeee meeeee!” biding for the next customer, and fake Official ‘Government’ Tourist Offices are common place.

Greater Delhi is massive, it has more people than Australia alone, and I only witnessed a smidgen of it. But to be honest, what I did see wasn’t that jaw dropping.
I think alot of people who are so bedazzled by India are low-traveled, 1st world conditioned under-exposed type travelers, completely culture shocked the moment they step foot off the plane. There’s really not a single thing I have seen here that I haven’t seen before, and I guess that’s why I was almost disappointed after a day or so of settling in.
If you’ve been anywhere in South-East Asia, Latin America or Africa’s, they’re all totally on par with what you can expect in Delhi.
That’s not to say you wont have a rad time, it can be a blast, just be careful how much hype is in the reviews you read and stories you hear.
