Today we decided to stay local and enjoy one of the near by tourist attractions San Miguel has to offer. El Jardin Botanico Charco del Ingenio is a 220-acre wildlife and bird sanctuary that was created to conserve the natural area around town. The botanical garden has an extensive collection of cacti and other native plants, as well as, many trails for walking, running and mountain biking. In 2004, El Charco del Ingenio was sanctified as a Peace Zone by the Dalai Lama, during his visit to Mexio he disignated 4 other zones in the country.
Here are some pictures our of visit.
