Any unsanctioned art developed in public spaces, such as graffiti artwork or street poster art, is considered to be street art. Typically, the term “street-art” or the more specific term “post-graffiti” is used to distinguish contemporary public space artwork from vandalism and territorial graffiti. Some of the most stunning and innovative street art is in Berlin. Berlin has attracted international attention and become a destination spot for street art creators and admirers alike. Since the reunification of the city, many post communist locations and old buildings have given rise to a vibrant street art scene. In areas like Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg, new street art is still being discovered on a daily basis.
