| Great for summer hiking

I bought this shoe as a summer alternative to my boots for hiking the rocky trails in the Santa Barbara front country. They are cool offer great toe protection and are very comfortable. They run a little wide for my narrow feet but are otherwise true to size. The sole doesn't offer much protection from sharp rocks but isn't advertised as being able to do that so I can't hold that shortcoming against it. If you aren't a tenderfoot like me you'll probably be fine. I like the quick-pull lacing system and haven't had any problems with it. The shoes are great in base camp after a day on a rugged trail in full boots.
