Cheaper hats work as well for sun protection - but will make you look like a bum. This is the class end of the bucket hats nice bad nice look - get it if you want to look like the protypical happy camper - get a cheap one if you don't mind looking like a bum.

Patagonia stands out in performance wear and the bucket hat is no exception. I like how it packs downs small and travels well. The large fits me well and has that beach bum feel. Lightweight makes it great for summer walks on the beach. I would consider another in a different color.

Patagonia's Bucket Hat is well-made and functional. I like that it has its own pocket so you can stuff into your pocket when you don't need it. Only wish that the brim was a little broader.
