| Dependable, durable.

I use my Nike trail running shoes to do the Bruce Trail and the Niagara Escarpment. I'm a 245-pound guy so I'm very conscious of both wear...and tear. These are a solid pair of shoes.
good lightweight trail shoe

A good shoe but not as much cushioning as the Assail IV of which I had two pairs. Still overall a good lightweight trail shoe offering a smooth ride over easy to moderate trails.
Good cushioning, versatile

This shoe seems to run about a half size smaller than other Nike running shoes in the same size. I had to go up a half size for a better fit. The toe box is a wee bit narrower than the Assail IV. I like the design of the Assail IV upper better because it didn't have external strapping directly over the little toe like the Assail V has. It has a glove like fit. I'm hoping the upper stretches a bit. The Assail V is very versatile and can be worn anywhere road or trail or for casual wear.
