I used this the first week to go on an snow overnighter. It was great as an outer layer. The weather was snowing all day the first day and I didn't get wet from the heavy snow. It is not heavy enough for to use a insulation layer but if you have plenty of layers on under it it would extend the range of the jacket possibly into the deep of winter. It makes a great addition to the quiver. Just right for all the days when I don't really want the weight of a Gortex outer shell.

The first weekend After receiving this jacket it rained very heavely in New York I took the it out of the bag and used it with a T shirt the jacket kept me dry and comfortable well worth the money. I will be using the jacket through the fall.
