Really light-weight and comfortable! It is perfect for spring and summer but I'm sure it would be great for layering in cooler temps. I've not worn it in downpours yet so I can't comment on the waterproofness. The fabric and the reinforcments feel much sturdier than my patagonia lightweight jacket which doesn't even have goretex.
