Eastbound Day 5 - 10 miles - Las Vegas

We went nowhere. Las Vegas was such a big hit with the kids a rest day was officially declared and we watched more volcano eruptions and pirate battles, did our laundry, bought a case of oil (let’s be honest, it burns it) and caught a show in the evening.

Vegas shows, the good ones at least, seem to be permanently sold out but if you’re willing to line up an hour ahead for cancellations it seems you can usually be lucky. We were lucky for the amazing French-Canadian Cirque du Soleil production Mystere, a sort of 21st century circus which perhaps had extra impact in Las Vegas as it features a cast of phenomenally fit people when so many Vegas visitors look like barrels on legs.

Tomorrow the Grand Canyon.
