My Events

Tuesday 14 to Sunday 19 October – Maureen and I will be in Bali for the Ubud Writers Festival along with a stellar cast of international writers. We went to the very first Ubud Writers Festival in 2004 and it's developed into a much loved event in the subsequent years.

8 to 11 am – Thursday 16 October – it’s billed as ‘Jalan-Jalan,’ jalan means ‘road’ in Indonesian but when you go jalan-jalan you’re just going for a stroll. I’m going to lead a stroll through the countryside near Ubud, telling travel tales on the way and ending with brunch at ‘a glorious private villa on the edge of the ricefields.’

9 to 10 am – Saturday 18 October – Wanderlust – I'll be discussing the topic with Lisa St Aubin de Teran and Martin Amanshauser.

2 to 4 pm – Saturday 8 November – The National Library, Canberra, Australia – It's going to be Tony & Maureen day for the Friends of the National Library! We'll be talking about our life with Lonely Planet.
