Togo uses the West African CFA franc.

Travellers cheques can be exchanged in Lomé and most major cities, but rates are about 3% to 5% lower than for cash. The main branch of BTCI, on Blvd du 13 Janvier in Lomé, offers cash advances on Visa, but it is quicker to use its ATM, which accepts Visa only. MasterCard isn’t accepted anywhere. BTCI’s branches in Lomé and the other cities generally have ATMs.

There are money-changers in most border towns, and on Rue du Commerce in Lomé.
