How do I find basic information about a Swedish town?

Most towns in Sweden have their own site for example Østersund or Luleå. Just type the name without the accent and add .se, then go to tourist and then there is plenty of information about the area.

Any recommendations for eating out in Stockholm?

A really good, cheap place to eat in Stockholm is Cafe Eken, on the corner of Pontonjärgatan and Sankt Eriksgatan, in Kungsholmen.

They didn't have any vegetarian items on the menu, so they made us vegetarian omelettes (which were lovely), which came with crispbread, juice and salad bar. The owner was very friendly, and it has a nice atmosphere.

Stockholm museums for cheap:

If you stay in Stockholm for long it's worth getting a Stockholm Museums' Friends membership. Free enry to most museums for 1 year, costs 400 SEK, sold in the Ost-Asiatisca Museum.
If nothing else you can always go to the museums to relax and use their bathroom.
