Latest security situation

Latest security situationI am looking for an update on the security situation following the Nosy Be incident as well as in view of the upcoming election. I will be traveling to Northern Madagascar with my family (wife + 4 kids aged 6-12) on October 24th. We will spend 10 days near Diego Suarez (Amber National Parc and around Nosy Be. We are experienced travellers and will of course heed the usual safety advice (no night travel, no display of expensive cameras, generally low profile, etc.). We will have a local guide with us.
A lot has been written about the Nosy Bay incident but my concern is more about the general safety situation for travellers outside cities in national parks (Parc de l'Ambre) and far away beaches (we are spending a few days on a pirogue). I understand there are gangs targeting tourists but I have not seen any statistics on how frequent these incidents are nor whether the north of the country is concerned. Any insights, guidance and advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
