Again - Visa Uganda AirportIn December I will travel to Uganda.
It seems to be simple to get the Visa at the airport in Entebbe. What kind of Visa I will get there? A single entry Visa for three month? I found different informations. Some say I will get it for 30days, some say it will be for 3 month.
Is it also possible to get a multiple entry visa (6-12 month) if I am there as a tourist? Or is it only possible to get the single entry Visa for 3 month (and then I need to get over the boarder to get a new Visa)?
I cannot show them a flight back to my homecountry/out of Uganda - is that a problem? Do they need this as a proof?
Do you recommend to get the Visa at the airport instead of getting it here in Germany?
Thanks a lot, I just want to know how the actual situation is like, although this question was asked quite a few times :)

1You should check the Ugandan embassy in Germany for the right information as a German citizen (I assume?).
A single entry visa is valid for three months and is only good for one entry.
A multiple entry visa is good for six months (or more, depending on what you pay for) and will allow you to cross the border and return. If you are staying for any length of time and think you will want to do this, you should get a multiple entry visa. The Ugandan High Commission in the UK (http://www.ugandahighcommission.co.uk/ConsularInformation/VisaInfo.aspx) says you must apply for longer multiple entry visas from Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kampala.
Although you can get both on arrival I think it costs less to get the multiple entry visa in advance.
I wasn't asked to show a return ticket when I visited Uganda a couple of weeks ago, but I was asked to declare how long I was staying in the country. If you don't know how long you are staying you might have different requirements.

2One thing to add - if you are getting the visa on arrival at Entebbe(or by land) make sure you ask for three months if that is what you want otherwise you may well find they have given you only a month as this is their default. Funny system but that is how it works.
The problem with a return ticket is not the visa on arrival but more likely with the airline who may not allow you to board if you do not already have a visa

3The multiple entry visa is usually, only, issued via the Embassy or High Commission and because it is issued via these overseas delegations there will be an administration fee - around $40/E30 - but could be more (it varies from country to country). The admin fees go towards the cost of the country having a delegation in your country. You will need to provide proof of flights into and out-off Entebbe plus the places you will visit/be staying at during your lengthy stay.
Definitely ask for a 3 month/90 day visa on arrival (if you are staying that long). If you don't ask you will only get the 30 day visa. Good luck
