Singapore to BaliHi,
I was wondering where would be the best place to travel to between Singapore and Bali? Don't know whether to do Malaysia or Indonesia and don't know where would be the best place to go in either of these places? How long would you recommend to travel for before arriving in Bali? How long would you recommend spending in Bali before going on to Australia? All recommendations welcome.

1I enjoyed 2 or 3 days in Malacca (Melaka) in Malaysia, about a 6 hour bus ride from Singapore (but that's heading away from Bali. And if you're into Volcanos then Java (Indonesia) is a short flight away (maybe fly from Singapore straight to Yogyakarta, about $100 with AirAsia. then make your way overland to Bali. You could spend a week on this section. How long in Bali? 3 or 4 days would cover the highlights, but if you're into water sports and/or resorts and/or nightlife, then you could fill a couple of weeks.

4The main place to see between Singapore and Bali is Java - you should be asking about this. There are many places to see there -Yoga, Solo, Malang, Mt Bromo and Surabaya, perhaps Jakarta too.
If you do not want to go there first, go to Sumatra - in North Sumatra, using Medan as a base, Bukit Lawang, Brestagi and Danau Toba. Aceh should be considered too. West Sumatra - Bukittinggi, Danau Mininjau, Padang and perhaps Jambi.
I'll let others talk about Bali as this has be written about on TT so many times before.
Do some research for yourself eg just follow TT for a bit. I should point out you have not given your interests (eg sightseeing, culture, beach, learning the language) or a broad estimate of how long you have -- years, months, weeks? I have spend half a year there, each year, in the last few years except this year because I had to come home sick.
