Tbeng Meanchey as part of Koh Ker/Prea Vihear Loop?I would love to make a very long, one-day trip to Beng Mealea, Koh Ker and Prea Vihear, but get the feeling that is simply too much for one day. Am I correct?
Would a workable alternative include an overnight Tbeng Meanchey? Anyone have experiences staying there? Will it be difficult to find drivers to do this loop as separate legs if I went SR to BM and Koh Ker ... sleep in TbengM and go to P.Vihear in morning, then back to Siem Reap? Guessing most drivers and guides out of Siem Reap will want to complete the loop and end up at home (and I don't really want to pay for driver/guide to sleep/eat/etc for 48 hrs!)

Why do you want to go to Tbeng Meanchey? Just to stay overnight? Then better make it Sra Em.
A day with all three temples may be pressed. Bear in mind that road conditions can be tricky and you'll spend most of your valuable time on the road instead of the temples.
If you want to do it absolutely in one day, skip Koh Ker.
If you absolutely want to see all three temples, rent a scooter (in Dam Dek, it's not possible in Siem Reap), visit Beng Mealea and Koh Ker on the way to Sra Em, stay there overnight, have a look at Prasat Preah Vihear first thing in the morning and head back comfortably. There's little traffic on that road, so it's okay even for novices.

4I agree with going to Sra Am instead of Tbeng Mnchai but skipping Koh Ker?
One solution would be to do the trip by starting at Prea Vehar. Take the bus, Van, collective taxi from Siem Reap to Sra Am. Get up early to the temple and DO not leave out the very small but nice and brand new museum along the road back to Sra Am.
The ndown to Koh Ker and on to Beng Mlea.
Unless you want to have the sun set at Prea Vehar and do the trip the other way around.
Personally, I feel that while one day is technically doable you might end up stressed out and rush without enjoying the site. If you can give yourself a bit more time and soak up the places without eying your watch.

we changed our plans a bit due to my husband's troubls at work with a long vacation.
and in Cambodia, we are now planning to be from 9 to 29 January.
If it is after you it would be great to read your reports and if you will make notes, send a link, please.
If we coincide in time, I'll write about our plans and so.
