Burundi/Rwanda border crossingI'm searching for information regarding a visa/ease of entry at the Burundi/Rwanda border. We're looking at traveling by land and will have applied ahead of time for a Burundi visa. Does anyone know if it is easier to cross into Burundi via Rwanda or easier to cross into Rwanda via Burundi. Any trouble with a tourist visa at the Rwanda border?

1the border crossing is very easy both ways. I made the trip in July/August and as a UK passport holder got the Burundi visa in Kigali - quick and easy. As I did not need a visa for the return entry into Rwanda all that was necessary was to get my passport stamped.
You need to check wether you need a visa in advance for Rwanda which depends on your nationality

3Yes - it is very easy either way. Visas depend on your nationality. For most nationalities, you can get a three day transit visa for Burundi at the border (apply ahead in Kigali if you want to stay longer). For Rwanda, you need to apply online at www.migration.gov.rw if you need a visa (e.g. UK citizens don't). You get an acceptance letter and show this at the border (whether entering by land or air).

4Echoing the words of BigAl, depending on your nationality of course, personal experience was that Burundi side extremely cordial, Rwandans far stricter on this border than on northern one with Uganda, but that said, no problems at all going either way, not even a suggestion of bribes, and fairly orderly.
