Will the immigration officier give a stamp onto my passport?I have been to Israel before. I remember the immigration officer would give a stamp onto the white paper if I requested him/her. But my friends who had been lately to Israel said the officer gave a stamp onto their passports even they insisted not to do that. Is it compulsory to give a stamp onto my passport even if I ask him/her not to do that?

1Israel is no longer stamping passports at Ben-Gurion Airport. You get a separate piece of paper. I understand that passports are still being stamped at land borders although this will probably change in the near future.
A request is just that. You can ask not to have your passport stamped, and usually the immigration official will comply with the request. But if he/she feels like stamping it for some reason there's nothing you can do about it.
