More Air Asia Philippines shenanigans!Oh no, it's happening again! It looks like Air Asia Philippines is suspending flights from Clark - that's ALL flights.
Here is the article - AirAsia Philippines CEO Maan Hontiveros interview -
As usual, on contacting the staff at Air Asia Philippines they don't have a clue what is happening and say all flights are still running, in direct contradiction to what their CEO is saying to the media! Basically, AA Phils are cancelling the Clark flights to cover the loss of what they have had to pay out for Zest's recent suspension.
AA Philippines has had their last chance with my money and custom. This is the 4th time this year my flights have either been cancelled or changed, forcing me to rebook with another airline. In the 6 years I have been living in the Philippines and travelling around SE Asia, (apart from dealings with Zest Air) I have never encountered anything like this level of incompetence and complete disregard for customers - so I suppose in that respect AA Philippines and Zest are perfect partners!

2This is clearly politics!
Tony Fernandez was very vociferous in his criticism of CAAP when Zest Air were suspended
seems like it is payback time now from Zest Air's partner.
Clark will never prosper without a proper rail link to the capital
Despite the fanfare after Pinatubo in 91 when the facility was handed over to Philippines, all
attempts to construct this basic infrastructure have failed. The facility will never be viable as
the country's premier gateway.

Yeh, well I have had it with AA Philippines. No more chances from me! If they aren't careful the reputation of the Philippines part of the company will tarnish the rest of the Air Asia brand. Tony Fernandez needs a good slap for allowing all this mess to happen. Not good business at all!
So the first PM I sent to AA Philippines on Facebook said all flights are scheduled as planned, so I replied and said they are contradicting what their CEO is saying publically. 2 hours later I get another reply saying:
we’re still finalizing the necessary information as of this moment. Pre-flight team will immediately contact you by phone, SMS, and e-mail once your flight is affected of suspension
So basically, it's true that they are suspending flights and they announced it AGAIN first to the media with no plans in place for customers to know what's happening with their flights.

7Perhaps Sri Tony could assign that nice Filipino lad who won "Apprentice Asia" to take over as CEO of AirAsia Philippines/Zest Air?
Now, senex, that's the funny thing. Jonathan Yabut does work for AA Philippines as Chief of Staff...to be honest I wasn't impressed with his business acumen when watching The Apprentice, there were far better candidates but I think Sri Tony had an inkling about the troubles that would face AA Philippines in the (then) near future! ;)
You got more patience than I loubby. Look at value not cost
Usually we do look at value and not cost and thought that AA Philippines wouldn't mess people around 4 times...how wrong was I! Actually, the flights we bought were more expensive than the Tiger Air option but flight times were better with AA.
As soon as I hear anything from AA Philippines I'll post an update here. Apparently though on their Facebook page people are saying there are no flights showing for Clark next year.
