Bus lima to huaraz in afternoonHi,
We are flying into Lima arriving at 1230 in the afternoon, and want to get a bus directly to huaraz that afternoon. We don't really want to wait for the night bus leaving at 9 or 10pm, as we are keen to do an acclimatisation trek immediately the next day. Does anyone know if there are any buses leaving mud afternoon (2pm or later) from Lima to huaraz, with any company?
Thanks a lot :)

1Buses in Lima are confusing, because a lot of the bus companies have separate terminals near the downtown area, or not so near. A couple of the companies that have websites are Sur del Cruz and Movil. But a lot of bus companies don't have websites. Maybe the best strategy would be to just go from the airport to the big northern bus terminal in Lima, where you should be able to find a bus to Huaraz pretty fast.

2Cavassa has a 2 pm Bus to Huaraz from Lima
and the terminal is in Avenida Universitaria hmm about 15 maybe 20 minutes from Jorge Chavez Airport
I can get the exact address if you want.
When I go to Huaraz I allways travel with Cavassa but I take the 11pm bus to get there early in the morning.
There is a lot of more cmpanies that go to huaraz different places different hours, you should have no problem finding one.

3Interesting question. Difficult to answer. OP looks for a bus Lima - Huaraz leaving mid afternoon. Let us say at 4:00 pm. The bus takes about eight hours. So, it would be scheduled to arrive in Huaraz at midnight. Possibly would arrive later because of delay. It is however my experience that bus stations close for a number of hours in the middle of the night, between midnight and 5:00 am (or something like that). Therefore you will not find many buses leaving or arriving in that timeframe, to or from anywhere. I doubt whether one easily would find a bus leaving Lima mid afternoon for Huaraz. Many buses to Huaraz? Yes. Leaving mid afternoon? I have may doubts.
Would be interested in getting specific information about a company (and departing time), providing this service. The mentioned option of Cavassa seems to be of no use as their website http://www.turismocavassa.com.pe/ does not list a bus at 2:00 pm, only one at 1:00 pm.

And you probably don't want to be arriving in a new town at 12-1 in the evening.
To get that 1pm/2pm bus with Cavassa, would require your flight to be on time, and immigration to be quick.....I don't see that happening. You'll probaby need to take a later bus. So you could spend the afternoon wandering around LIma.
