1You mean they just let you out of rehab? ;)
As you say, still a few regulars, but most just got pissed off the with long close-down and pruning over New Year and the ridiculously increased censorship and deletions. Some of it warranted, mind you considering the growth in personal sledging, but where to draw the lines once you go down that road?? The worst bit is that the PM feature is gone.
The only thing that hasn't changed is that we still have loads of lazy newcomers who don't read stickies or do searches and bounce onto the scene like they've just heard that Thailand has been discovered and they need to know about the weather or what we think of their minute-by-minute various spellings of itinerary.
And "Me and my girlfriend" still outnumbers "My girlfriend and I" by about ten to one!
Other than that it's still TIT and same-same me, and same old!

2Actually alot of the old guard are still posting, just using different handes ;)

Yes I agree. PMs were hugely misused though by the bully mentality of posters ganging up on others but since LP has clamped down alot on the abusers, I think it could be re-introduced. I'd also like to see signatures make a comeback, I really liked some of them.

No, apparently they'll never let me out, AOMM. But I'm at least allowed monitored web access for an hour a day now. So that's good. :) So we still have to answer the same old things 10 times a day? Sigh. As for itineraries, you know that you love planning other people's. Admit it man, :) At least replies aren't still getting "vetted" by the nannies like they were after the reboot. That really narked me off.

So who's HeinekenDrinker / CDB / 10otherhandles these days, FCIG? Or has he finally got a life? I see you've been busy - all those posts must be mainly post-reboot. They seem to have stolen about 3000 of mine :(

If that's the case you must have been involved in alot of argumentative threads LOL that were just never resurrected.
"HeinekenDrinker" is mentioned occasionally by other posters but he was before my time so I wouldn't recognise him.
Still several "old farts" posting who tend to group together but you'll recognise them if you hang about for any length of time. They like to just sit around and agree with one another.

5Splendid, old chap. Simply splendid.

I dropped from 6,000+ to 900 but I wouldn't consider myself much of an arguer. Think they just blanket-deleted most of the older (pre 2011) posts, so in my case about 5 years worth, and I don't think they're ever coming back.

They said they when they dismantled the forum they couldn't help removing PMs also . According to to THREAD I get the feeling that the decision about PMs are not coming back is permanent. Heinkendrinker was not before your time and you and him had arguments when he posted under the name of Alligator1 and other names.
As well as Chief Burger (those with long memories may know him as 'Bill Jones' also) Mr K and the Professor seem to have gone too , or have they ?. Tezza seems to have gone too.
One contradiction is tha they feel too many links to blogs will result in loss of traffic from Thorn Tree . But removing Branches such as Your Choice etc would have resulted in traffic leaving Thorntree also.
