Short trips from Sydney and Melbourne for the over 40sI am looking at doing a couple of 2-4 day trips: Great Ocean Road 9either Melbourne-Melbourne or Melbourne-Adelaide) and Sydney to Melbourne. So far many of the minibus tours I have found are for the under 40s. What about ones for the over-40s who don't want to spend a fortune on luxury travel? Can anyone help me?

3The link below will take you to a list of the major tour companies out of Melbourne. I've never used them (I live in Victoria!!) but I'm sure they will cover all age groups so you won't feel out of place.

4We're in our fifties and hired a car a couple of years ago and drove from Sydney to Melbourne, on the coast road, stopping at places like Eden and Merimbula and Raymond Island on the way. It's an easy drive over a few days and very scenic. Much nicer than joining a tour IMHO! One way rentals are slightly more costly, but it wasn't much.

5You should consider any tour going where you want regardless of age. It's all down to your own attitude. They might be backpacker oriented but they regularly have people of all ages. I've been a driver/guide on many of these types of tours (in my 40's) and had people up to their seventies on board, and the younger ones had trouble keeping up with them! And you can get private rooms at any accommodation they stop at.
