1Past 17.00 when all the day trippers from ko Chang are gone it is quiet and after 22.00 when they turn off the generators its only the mossies buzzing around.
In the day time paradise beach can be a handful with 50-150 day visitors each day, often Russians, quite a few walking in with beer in their hands in the morning.
There are signs now not to break off corals - in Russian as well, guess there is a reason for it.
Pakara resort is busy on weekends with Thai day trippers, during the week its quiet, cut then the beach and report there just don't do it for me.
Grandma's is still very quiet and finally a real bungalow operation, the place has been cleaned up and a new walk way made connecting it with Pakara.
ko mak and ko kood have become quieter alternatives albeit the latter one is lacking cheap huts right on the beach, budget huts are set back a bit.

3Koh Wai accommodation: Koh Wai Paradise (there is no official website for this resort, contact number for bookings is available at the bottom of this reference page http://www.ikohchang.com/kohwaiparadise.htm)
A set of basic wooden bungalows in the most idyllic part of the island. White sand beach and coconut palms, surrounded by turquoise waters of the sea. Koh Wai is called a paradise island for a reason. No road, no internet and no civilisation other than a few seasonal resorts. Koh Wai Paradise offers basic wooden beach huts with a bed and mosquito net. Toilets and showers are available in 2 amenities blocks. There’s also a restaurant and bar with kayak and snorkelling gear hire on site.
Hope it helps you.

5Apart from the 100-150 mostly Russian day trippers indeed. Forget about ordering food in their restaurantrestaurant when they have to provide fried rice with chicken for all of them...
On a busy day it can be actually even more than that, counted over 30 boats one single day...
Even the little 'hidden' beach past grandma's resort has a proper access path now and there were two boats anchored there with snorklers.
Few years ago you could have this beach all for yourself all day long...
Internet via cell phone works btw.
