South East Asia Circular Route - Which way?!Hi All,
Firstly I should say I have spent hours planning, reading and looking at how my girlfriend and I should should plan our 5 weeks in SE Asia later this year so I'm not just another newbie asking the 'best' way to spend time in Asia...BUT...
After all but finalising our plans to do the following, we wondered whether we should be going the opposite way around.
Currently it looks like this;
TRAIN TO Chiang Mai
BUS TO Chiang Rai
BOAT TO Luang Prabang
FLY TO Ho Chi Minh
OVERLAND TO Phnom Phen
OVERLAND TO Siem Reap
BUS/TRAIN TO Bangkok
But we were thinking of doing things above but in reverse order, what does everything think, do people have better experiences travelling one way or the other. I'm guessing it doesn't really matter but I didn't want to miss out on something purely because we switched things up last minute.
The main questions we have;
Does it have much effect on which way you travel along the (LP > CR)?
Is overland travel in Cambodia relatively the same whether you go from Bangkok to HCMC or the other way around?
Look like it'll be cheaper to do our route the reverse from the above but would be good to know you guys' thoughts.
At the end of the trip we are doing a week in Koh Lanta.
