Recomend me a Guide for Photography projectHi all,
i know many of you been there and probably many of you had good experiences with guides and maybe some of you are photographers as me.
I need a guide to not only cover my trekking experience but to help me with some photography work im taking up there.
My requirements are :
- he speaks fluent english
- He must be able to comunicate with locals to ask them to let me take photos and pay for the rights
- He must be able to carry some of my gear
- He must be fair and not greedy ( this is a personal project so i dont want him to try to take a piece because it looks like a sponsored trip )
- He must know his way arround and been there many times so he knows some of the local comunities
- He must work on a day basis salary.
Any recomendations will be greatly appreciated

2Recommendations for guides can be given here; for travellers by travellers from experience.
Hope you get a recommendation (sorry, I don't have one that meets your requirements) but it is a good idea to meet a few guides before committing so you can check check theore skills, knowledge and experience and be specific with the ground rules.
It might be difficult to find a good guide that will carry gear or you might need to pay extra for this.

3I recently posted this thread on guide and agency recommendations I would check into these guides/companies. Karna has accompanied me on several treks to accomplish just what you ask. He is not fluent in English but his English is sufficient to do what you want. I'm a photographer too, and he is very patient in waiting, as I set up a landscape shot. If Karna is not able to guide you personally, I'm sure he could find someone that meets your needs. Email him and be specific on what you want. The same applies for Ram's company. Ram will not guide you but he can find a guide that meets your needs. You can trust him. Finally, Bhuwan will meet your needs. I'd say he is fluent in English. He certainly can accommodate your other requests. Bhuwan gives very high quality service and he is honest. I've recommended many trekkers to Bhuwan and those that hired him have reported back that he was so kind and helpful. They were very glad they hired him. Bhuwan is still setting up his trekking company so his website isn't up and running yet. I don't want to put his email out on the web, but if you give me your email address, I'll send you his email address.

5^^^ paying for rights helps you sleep at night if you later make money from the pics, or just a goodwill gesture for someone giving you some of their time. Getting a signature on a release form is much more valuable though!
For the OP, I think much of what you've asked for would be easy to get - the fluent English bit may be harder, but 'fluent enough' is common. You should learn some basic Nepali too.
This company in Np may be able to help with experience photog helpers.
