cyclingI am thinking about cycling through Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro. Exact countries is still up for debate. This trip will be from May 1 to June 15 (roughly), 2014. Am not planning to camp, just using the bike to see more of the country up-close and as transportation.
Has anyone done this? Will the weather be descent enough to ride? Do you have a rout recommendation?
any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I did, in some parts of a number of countries.
The weather will be okay/decent (to my standards)
As your last question, about the route: first provide more info please about skills, where to start/finish (as a preference) and more detailed about interests. It's also to be recommended to read up cycle-sites like crazyguyonabike what people experienced in these countries, there are many relevant issues IMO as road-safety i.e. drivingstyle motorists, catering and lodging.
These are some experienced cyclists riding Slovenia and Croatia some years ago: http://www.gonebikeabout.com/slovenia_croatia09.htm

2Thanks for the info.
I am an avid rider. Completed 4 Ironman events...if that helps.
I read through "Gone bike about" and it looks like some of the riding will be rough. Would you recommend a "mountain" bike or a "cross" bike. I will want to take the panniers off often and just ride wherever: City, mountain, beach, Park, etc. I think my road bike would crumble!
