Late Arrival in KievHi all, I've tried a variety of searches and couldn't find the answer, forgive me if this has been asked before!
My flight arrives at 2am at Kiev (KBP). I'm researching if there's a hostel that may pick me up at that awful hour, but if not, what is the most sensible solution for a gal traveling alone? Reputable shuttle company, taxi, etc?
Also, any advice on where to purchase a microSIM card?
Thanks so much!

1Best to stay at the airport hotel not too expensive for a single room: USD 54 and take the bus the next morning into the town centre.
Sim cards can be bought anywhere: small kiosks on the street and official phone company shops on every shopping street MTS, Kyivstar, Life and Beeline

2No need to stay in KBP to take the bus in the morning. Buses from Airport to Train Station (Skybus) operates during night too. You can find timetable on their website
to be short - there are buses departing from airport starting from 2 am:a 2:05, 2:55, 3:40 and 4:25 (but check for your particular date), so there are no issue to get from Airport to city without paying for taxi.
Other issue - the rest of public city transport is not operating during such hour, so upon arrival to main train station in Kyiv - you must either take a taxi within city center (it will be dramatically less expensive, than from airport to city) or just walk (train station is about ~2,5 km from very city center, a lot of hostels are are in halfway, so you can choose one which is within walking distance from train station)

3I know the airport bus runs 24/7 however for a woman alone to arrive in the middle of the night in a strange city, with hostels most likely not open to receive new guests at that time of night and hotels very expensive, I still think it's best to stay at the airport hotel. It's next door to the terminal (assuming the OP is arriving with Lufthansa, which is the daily ridiculously late flight)

6Regarding MicroSIMs - there are 3 ways, depending on mobile operator:
-some mobile operators sell all new their SIMs in combined MiniSIM/MicroSIM form factor, so when you buy their SIM card you immediately get microSIM. Unfortunatenaly such a good practice is proposed only by smallest and less popular mobile operators.
-some mobile operators (2 largest and most important ones: MTC and Kyivstar) have following practice: their new sim-Cards are sold as MiniSIM but at the same time - they propose reissue of SIM card as MicroSIM. It costs 10-20 UAH, but probably the main issue - such re-issue available only in their contact-centers (but not in every place where their sims are sold)
-if 2 previous option is unavailable - some shops, specialized for selling SIM cards and phones propose cutting usual MiniSIM to MicroSIM for you, it costs ~25 UAH.

7Update for anyone who stumbles upon this thread...
Due to lack of being able to confirm a reservation with the KBP hotel, I ended up going with the nearby Hotel Kasana in Hora, which offers nice private rooms in guesthouses. It's in a quiet village down a gravel road, and it's best to arrange to have them pick you up as I can't imagine trying to explain to a taxi driver how to get there, and in the dark, no less!
For about $60 USD I got a private bed and bath, airport pickup, breakfast, and dropoff in the city center.
However -- this will be a challenging experience if you don't speak Russian. :)

Thanks a lot for the information.
Last September, I used Lufthansa and arrived At Boryspil at 1.40 AM. The hotel just close the terminal is the best option because you will be overcharged by taxis and most of hostels are close after midnight.
In the morning, you use the Skybus (number 322) to reach the metro (on the way to the city) or the main railway station (40 UAH for the last one) and using the metro to go to your hostel/hotel is very easy and very cheap.
