Papallacta budget lodging

Papallacta budget lodgingJust thought I would throw this out there for those backpacking on a budget.
The most inexpensive place to stay in Papallacta is El Viajero, just up the hill from Hotel Cortupa. El Viajero is run by Hilda and Jorge, and they opened in 1983. The amenities are sparse (although this does include a television) and the rooms are simple, but it is clean and comfortable. They ask for $10 per person, but I was able to negotiate that to include breakfast. Jorge is a taxi driver, so you can ask him to take you wherever you want to go and call him to pick you up.
You can get to Papallacta from the Amazon by catching a bus to Quito and asking them to let you off. Likewise, you can catch a bus from Quito to Tena, Baeza, Lago Agrio and ask the driver to let you off in Papallacta.
