Itinerary Planning Advice - Copenhagen / Stockholm / HelsinkiI'm looking for a little advice... visiting from LA in September with my brother who lives in NYC. We're both in our 30s, have traveled in Europe a bunch, interested more in art/culture/history/food/design than touristy stuff.
Is this itinerary workable, or should I come back and do Helsinki another time? I'd like to try to make it to the Louisiana art museum, etc. as well.
9/12 arrive Copenhagen in AM
~ 2.5 days in Copenhagen
9/15 fly to Helsinki mid day
~ 1.5 days in Helsinki.
9/16 PM overnight boat to Stockholm.
9/17 arrive in Stockholm in AM
~ 3 days in Stockholm.
9/20 depart Stockholm AM back home

1Why shouldn't it work brilliantly?
You will have a short visit to 3 capitals in 3 Nordic countries (not seeing anything of the countries, what Scandinavia and Finland normally is about). You will have some - very, very short - time in each capital (and jet lag?). But if you have a firm plan - visiting one places for ½ hour and then a cab to the next, you can see a lot.
A visit to Lousiana will take most of a day - transport 1 hour each way (even if you rent a car) - a few hours to see the place + lunch... Won't you visit Arken, too, BTW?
The food interest won't give you much - have you calculated how few meal you will eat?
NB: remember if you are interested in eating at the gastonomical top end restaurants (like Noma, Geranium etc.), you must book NOW - and be prepared that it is far too late for some restaurants.

I have spent a few days in each city and out of the 3 I would say that Stockholm is the nicest then Copenhagen and then Helsinki. That is not to say Helsinki isnt bad its just up against tough opposition!. I dont think there is anything wrong with your itinerary at all.
What may be of help to you would be what I put on my website from what I found good in Copenhagen from my time there. Renting a bike there makes things very easy and there are plenty of cycle lanes and plenty of places to rent them from.
I havent got around to writing about Stockholm yet but hopefully in the future. The itinerary can be done in 2-3days depending on the speed you do it.
I hope this helps.
