Dehli Airport questionsCan anyone familiar with Dehli airport help? my flt arrives T3 at 11.40 and I want to get to T1D for a 14.20 flt to Srinigar .
I see domestic checkin closes 45 mins prior to departure, I will be dragging a bike box.
Question is will I make the connection, does the shuttle take bike boxes, can I jump in a taxi if need be?
First trip to India so any advice appreciated.

1I'm not familiar with Delhi airport so I can't help you. However, I'd like to make a nuance to your original post that could be relevant: Your flight is scheduled to arrive at 11:40. Nobody can guarantee you it won't be delayed, heavily delayed or even canceled. In other words, there's no guarantee your flight will really arrive at 11:40 as you seemed to assume.

3If you are not familiar with the question, then do not post captain obvious responses. Just don't post, it's a complete waste of time and doesn't add anything positive.
Obvious facts are sometimes overlooked. Therefore sometimes is useful to remind them. (As far as I'm aware) Post #1 meets all the rules of this forum and therefore I'll keep making similar posts whenever I feel it's necessary. If you don't like it, that's your problem.
P.S.: The original poster thanked in #3 the replies (i.e.: the two replies he got) so it seems he considered both replies (mine on #1 and yours on #2) added something positive or, at least, that both of them were someway useful...

6@OP: Question is will I make the connection, does the shuttle take bike boxes, can I jump in a taxi if need be?
Taking into consideration the good point made in post #1 on this thread, and the variable of traffic and road conditions on any given day between the two terminals, all I can say is that I think you have a better than 50-50 chance.
I took the shuttle between these two terminals a few months ago, but it was around midnight when I did this. I don't know how crowded the shuttle is during the hours you would be using it. Aside from that, I think you would be allowed to board the shuttle with your bike box.
If your bike box will fit into or onto a taxi securely, that might be your best chance to make the flight connection.

7exit the terminal and ask for the shuttle bus to T1, the drive time is about 25 minutes and the shuttle goes every 30 minutes if i remember right, have your ticket ready the guys at the shuttle bus stationh want to see it, otherwise you have to pay some rupees, a taxi will put the bike in the boot and secure with a rope, better bring a rope just in case.
be aware that before check in , in india all luggage needs to be scanned, so this might take some time as well when a lot of people are waiting. and use the RIGHT scanning line (every airline has their own people and scanner for the luggage-so ask which and where is your place to scan the luggage).... yes its really a bit tirening -security wise- in india, but its for your security as well...........so have everything ready1!!!

8I don't know the size of your bike boxes. If you can fit those boxes in shuttle bus then there is no problem. Buses are low floor North american style buses and are quite frequent between the two terminals. It will take hardly fifteen minutes to reach terminal T1. Shuttle bus starts just outside the exit of arrival section of T3. You can also take prepaid taxi to T1 and they should not charge much. Prepaid taxi booth is also outside the arrival.
